Kuirau Park is free for all and offers a great introduction to the smells and views of the geothermal nature of the area. You can combine this with a walk by the Lake front and a coffee at Third Place café (best custard slices in town!). A Saturday market is held at the Kuirau Park all year round from 7am to 1pm. Here you will find fresh fruit and vegetables, fast food, coffee, arts and crafts and many more items.

Enjoy breakfast at the market on a Saturday morning before taking a walk and discovering the steaming, hissing, and boiling geothermal activity in the heart of Rotorua at Kuirau Park

This is a park in the centre of Rotorua. It's a great place to see some thermal activity at no cost. There's even the opportunity to soak your feet in a thermal pool. On Saturday mornings there's a market also, held by the playground.

A city centre public park, with various geothermal features from mud pools, bubbling hot springs, fumeroles to steam vents and my favourite highlights are Lake Kuirau and there's two spots you can soak your feet in the hot mineral water... perfect in rain or shine. Can't beat this park for one of the cities best "free" sightseeing attractions!
