The Museum of African Design (popularly known as MOAD) opened in a cavernous former-industrial building in the Maboneng Precinct in downtown Johannesburg in late 2013. The museum does not own a permanent collection, but hosts a new exhibition every four months, showcasing disciplines as varied as African fashion and furniture to architecture, landscaping and public art. Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 to 17:00, Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 to 18:00.
