Intersting exhibitions and architecture but also nice museum shop! If I would choose one place where to buy souvenirs and local goods it would be Pilke shop! Good quality, Finnish design and interesting finds.

This is a must-see for children and those who are interested about wood. See the forests like you’ve never seen it before! Science Centre Pilke tells stories about the northern forests and the many connections we have with them. Did you know that ice cream, party dresses and medicines all contain timber and other products that comes from forests? Expolore forests indoors through all the senses and get inspired! The Science Centre is suitable for visitors of all ages who are interested in forests and our relationship with them. Pilke House, located on the banks of the river Ounasjoki in Rovaniemi, is the wooden office building of Metsähallitus. It houses the Science Centre Pilke, the Pilke Shop and office premises.
