Kaboom Books is a general purpose, used bookstore at the eastern edge of Woodland Heights immediately above Downtown Houston. For 30+ years we had a succession of bookshops in New Orleans, in the back of the French Quarter. Now, in Houston, our purpose remains the same: providing a bookstore based on complexity and an inventory of ideas, which acts as a sounding board for social discourse within the confines of Houston’s hundreds of neighborhoods. If you are tired of looking for books by sitting in your underwear, hunched over your keyboard, watching type trickle down the screen, come by and have a browse. Put something more on before you come though; as Lord Buckley said, “You can’t do anything without your pants on.”
