We think it is the best local cafe on the entire island. Maria (originally from China) and her family took over the lease from the original owners and seamlessly became locals themselves. Offering a fusion of both local and Chinese menu items from snacks to full meals it has to be the best local stop to make. It is a Locals bar and you will feel like you just walked into history when you come in. Can not go wrong when they still offer the best local prices to everyone. Hint: Maria's super awesome breakfast sandwich (which is not on the menu), any of the daily food dishes, baileys and coffee... The atmosphere and people you will meet are great. If you are practicing Spanish and want to learn island history go and take a seat and listen and join in where you can. Great for solo or groups. In the hill tops above the neighbourhood lie old abandoned Franco military bunkers and military emplacements worth exploring the "Bunkers of San Juan" as well waking the local side streets and winding narrow stair cases and streets. Wifi is possible if you ask nicely but honestly it is better to immerse yourself in the local culture and get to know the regulars. :)
