Why locals recommend it

An up-and-down 15-mile round trip from Mill Valley, through Muir Woods, over Mount Tamalpais’s northern shoulder, to Stinson Beach. It’s the site of the famous Dipsea Race, held annually for those fortunate enough to gain entry. The route is a challenge for even the most accomplished runner—both the views and climbs will take your breath away. To make it a one-way, hop on one of Golden Gate Transit’s shuttles back to Mill Valley from Stinson Beach. Or summon a Lyft or Uber.

I work my gluts on these steps! They path goes all the way to the ocean, but even doing the first 15 min and back inside a great workout.
