Why locals recommend it

The coffee program is run by a woman named Penny, who brought a lot of delicious recipes from the Philippines, and it’s spot-on. Their latte is fantastic. Just the right temperature—not too hot, not too cold—and the milk is creamy with lots of great microbubbles. Big windows and lots of seats face Broadway, so it’s a great place for people-watching. The Golden State Warriors basketball team practices across the street, so look out for sightings of coaches or players.

Best lunch spot in downtown Oakland - Women/ Minority owned business! Must haves: Mozzarella/tomato or Pulled-Pork sandwiches.

Cute little cafe with good coffee and pastries next to BART. Tends to concern itself with Fillipina, immigrant and LGBTQ rights.
