Head up Wright Rd to the Aongatate Lodge, you'll find a number of walks start here ranging from beginner to Intermediate. If you fancy a swim, you'll find one of the tracks (sign posted) leads to a local swimming hole.

WOW- WHERE DO YOU BEGIN!!! this forest park area is huge. From the barn you can see the Kaimai ranges stretching out infront and it is full of heritage trails, walking and tramping tracks. theres amazing things like historic pack horse track and bush tamways , building ruins and other relics from an old logging and goldmining era. I love Karangahake gorge because its packed with historical short walks and so pretty by the river!!! picnic by the Owharoa falls and take a torch for some mine tunneling exploration. There a is cafe called "the falls retreat" nearby, where you can finish the adventure with a "fig and blue cheese pizza" and a nice glass of wine, delivering an explosion of taste.
