This place, right by Oakland’s Fox Theater, is mostly known for its world-class paella, but the real highlight is the after-dinner espresso. It just complements the meal really well. The attention to detail, the volume and temperature, and the really great crema all go into making this a perfect espresso shot. Sometimes Duende hosts live jazz or flamenco music upstairs, which is a nice tucked-away space.
