This beautiful 2.1 km self-guiding trail will immerse you in the sounds and sights of the forest. Learn about ancient Lake Agassiz as you enjoy the walk. You will see an expansive view of Lake Winnipeg at a resting spot along the trail. The trail is suitable for children as well as adults. Bring water and wear a hat to be comfortable in the sun. From Grand Marais, drive towards East Beach (six minute drive) and ask at the campground office how to locate the trailhead.

Ancient Beach Trail is a 2.1 km moderately trafficked loop trail located near Grand Marais Excellent place for families to enjoy a walk. The trail is short and easy, although there is some one uphill section and one downhill section. It takes around 30 minutes to complete this trail. There is an outhouse at the beginning of the trailhead. This is a great trail for beginners or those just wanting to enjoy a peaceful walk through the forest. 10 mins away.
