THE KALHATTY FALLS The Kalhatty Falls is a beautiful tourist destination which is about 13 kms from Ooty, the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. The mesmerizing Kalhatty waterfalls are about 2000m above the sea level. To reach this destination you need to drive down the Ooty-Mysore Road or the Sigur Ghat Road. It is about 2 miles from the Kalhatty village to the Kalhatty waterfalls. This place gets all the more thunderous during the monsoon season, as the waters come thundering down in massive quantities. The Kalhatty waterfalls are seasonal and come to life only during the months in-between September November. This place has about 25 acres of coffee and 50 acres of tea plantations.
