Why locals recommend it

The Thames has one of the largest tidal ranges in the world, and each day the outgoing tide reveals artifacts, from medieval clay pipes to fragments of Victorian porcelain. Thames Explorer runs two-hour walks on the foreshore accompanied by archaeologists. Walks depart from the north bank side of the Millennium Bridge. It’s very muddy, so bring waterproof boots or Wellies, and a spare pair of trousers wouldn’t go amiss.
