Really awesome views of the city from the parking lot. There is a trail that goes further up and I think it's about 5 miles round trip, but the last part is difficult.

Flattop mountain is a well known hike on the upper hillside in south Anchorage. In the fall it can be a good place for finding wild blueberries :-)

This is an awesome place for hiking. Bring some food and water. It is $5.00 to park. There is sort of secret parking in the back. When you turn in, keep going straight. If you look carefully, you will notice the road passes the ranger's house on the right (house on the left, road on the right). DO NOT PARK OUT OF PARKING AREA; THEY DO TOW AND TICKET PEOPLE.
