Cheese Factory Housed in a replica of a historic 1920s butter factory, Waikato cheese-maker Kaimai Cheese has a wide range of cheese available from camembert to blue vein. Enjoy a meal in the café, view the cheese-making process through picture-glass windows in to the boutique factory and sample some of the some of the best cheeses the Waikato region has to offer.

we are a bit lucky to boast that the Kaimai cheese cafe and restaurant is only 3 minutes down the road, and they really do make "top shelf" specialty cheeses , "natural". A replica building of an old 1920 Butter Factory, with trusses and roof vents from the original butter factory used in the building, its a beautiful setting. So head on down there to have a lovely hot chocolate in an old butter factory. Order the cheese platter which shows off all their cheeses.. Its the perfect spot for pit stop!!!!

so if you are after a big breakfast with a hearty countrystyle punch, then 3 minutes down the road from our barn is the cheese factory. I had a huge plate of bacon, eggs, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, black pudding and a hash brown and it only set me back about $22!!! lasted all day. I went with Dewi and he chose the "Kaimai Steak sandwich" which i tell you it had the biggest prime scotch fillet on a ciabatta i had ever seen. Orcourse you have to have a good old "Flat White" when you are "cafe-ing" in New Zealand and their outside umbrella scene is perfect for a nice relaxing meal. By the way Dewi went in for seconds and tried the " corn fritter stack" so hes not going to need dinner tonight!
