Jervis Bay School

It’s a good three-hour ride south from Sydney, but persevere. Once out of Sydney’s traffic, you’ll sail past rolling green hills which meet the ocean at towns like Gerringong and Kiama. Do yourself a favour and stop at Berry Sourdough Cafe for a treat—in the little town of Berry—before heading onward to Jervis Bay’s Booderee National Park. Stunning. The entire national park is beautiful, but most people stop at Hyams Beach, which won the Guinness World Record a few years ago for having the world’s whitest sand. Instead, head onward to Murray’s Beach, which is just as special—but much less crowded.
