Walking from Combpyne to Lyme Regis take the scenic route via Shapwick (mentioned in the Domesday Book) and then just before the viaduct take the public foothpaths through Uplyme and into Lyme. Bus (if it is still operating) back. The Cannington Viaduct was reputed to have been sold for one pound when the disused branch line railway was sold off. Some landowners it appears were even paid to absorb the old railway into their land.
