This is the closest place to go for really great walk among the cactus experience. The town of Cave Creek is a touristy cowboy type town, but who cares? The last time I was here we started just in time to get in a good hike and see a beautiful sunset as we got back to the car. I believe it is a 6 mile round trip walk/hike. Bring hat, water, sunscreen.
Hike a few miles or longer distances. Great old Saguaro cactus. Always take plenty of water when hiking the desert.
Great hiking and horse trails. Horse rentals nearby. Check out the website for more info. www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/spur-cross-8x11.pdf
