Wolverine if you want steep, have the day and are prepared Nearpoint if you only have a couple hours REMEMBER to be bear aware on ANY hiking trails:)

Many easier trails branch off from this trailhead and you can get amazing views of the city at the same time.

This is a great place to start a hike. It is the trail head that will lead to several places. You can access Wolverine Peak Trail is a 8.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail it is rated as difficult but best view in town. You can see all of Anchorage and two different valleys on the other side. There is also Near point if don't have the time or energy for Wolverine.

Hike up Nearpoint peak or Wolverine peak from here. Great local trails in Chugach national park. Wildlife/mountain view without all the crowds at Flattop Peak.
