This local water park is a great option for a day out with the family. Their claim to fame is 'the world's first wave pool.' Our favorite attraction is the lazy river.

Point Mallard Park offers the great outdoors like you've never experienced it before! Hidden among North Alabama‘s wooded pines, the 700+ -acre family park offers numerous activities for all ages ... 18 hole golf course, 25-acre wooded campground, year round indoor ice skating rink and a seasonal water park complete with 3 pools, lazy river, water slides, picnic tables, and for large gatherings they have several pavilions for rent. Additional facilities include tennis courts, batting cages, a 3 mile hiking/jogging/biking trail, and a driving range. Popular events include the Alabama Jubilee Festival held Memorial Day Weekend, The Spirit of America Festival July 3rd - 4th, and the Battle for Decatur, Civil War Reenactment held Labor Day weekend.
