The Courthouse in Philipsburg was built in 1793, destroyed by a hurricane and rebuilt in 1825 by slaves. It is a simple and robust building to which attributing an architectural style is difficult with its cornerstones and arches. It first served as home to Captain John Philips, founder and namesake of Philipsburg and will then become a fire station, a post office and the Philipsburg City Hall. Handcrafted wooden pineapple at the top represents the symbol of hospitality. *Located 10 mins away from the unit*
