The location couldn’t be better , right at the base of the Kirkjufell. Waking up to that view was surreal. The peace and quiet of the surroundings made it the perfect escape. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped, and Anna and Óli were thoughtful hosts. An unforgettable stay in one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been!

We had a wonderfully peaceful stay at Mountain Song. The place was very cozy and secluded and perfect for getting away from it all. We were there late in the season, but even with some of the roads and trails inaccessible, we found plenty to keep us busy with nearby hikes, restaurants, breweries, and painting and reading while watching the snow fall out the windows.

Cozy house in the heart of the old village

A quiet retreat in the Westfjords not far from the town of Isafjorda. The home was clean and peaceful and gave us room to spread out. It has a beautiful view of the mountains flanking each side of the fjord and was very private even with other homes nearby. We appreciated having a hot tub to relax at the end of the day and access to a laundry room.

The accommodation is spacious, very well equipped. Various games are available for children and board games are also provided. The accommodation is clean and nice. An electrical outlet is also available for those who have an electric vehicle. Finally the views are stunning from the living room, a huge view of the bay.

Well…to be honest, I wouldn’t use “luxury” to describe this place. Cozy, modern, efficient definitely! Most importantly the views surrounding the location is just breathtaking. Kirkjufell view is right out your balcony 24/7. The unit is on a small size about 25sqm give or take. Kitchen is equipped enough for lite cooking for 2 no more than that. Unless you plan to stay in your room 24hrs this will never be a problem. The host was friendly and gave clear instructions, no fuss at all. If you’re looking for a peacefully beautiful location with gorgeous views all around this place tick all the boxes. But not for the kind of “luxury stay” if that’s what you want.

Margret’s house is so wonderfull! Everything was perfect for our two families (4 adultes and 1 child). The house and the view are amazing and everything is perfect here: everything is clean, the kitchen is very practical, the decoration is beautifull… and the jacuzzi!!!! we could not expect something better. Thanks to Margret who has been really responsive and who help us every time we asked her something or needed an advice. I can only suggest you to stay in this house, it was the most beautifull place I have been through airbnb.

We loved our stay here. The place was easy to find, right at the base of Kirkjufell. It was clean, easy to access and had beautiful views of the water and the mountains. It was also close to town so there were easy access to groceries and restaurants. It had a cabin-like feel and our family loved the hot tub.

Spectacular villa with a ocean and mountain view

We booked Svavar's place in Setberg to explore the Snaefellsnes peninsula, having never been there. The house faces the Atlantic Ocean and also south towards Kirkjufell. It's an amazing location. The house is about 12-15 minutes from the nearest town which has a small grocery store, a liquor store (do all your liquor buying on arrival at the airport to save a LOT of money) and couple of restaurants. The house is FULLY stocked. Whatever you could possibly need is there. The kitchen is set to cook. I made 3 full dinners there instead of going out. We got lucky due to clear weather and a serious solar flare, so we saw the Northern Lights every night there! The patio is wonderful and when the wind subsided we even sat outside a bit. Svavar is fantastic at communicating and always helpful if we had a question. He was very generous all around. I would absolutely recommend this house if you want to get away from the crowds. There is NO one around you! Fantastic accommodation!

We felt like we walked into a clean and lovely home. Very well stocked and beautifully located with the view of a glacier from the sunroom! We saw the aurora borealis right off the back step, and enjoyed our stay. Lots of room in the house but (we didn’t know ahead of time) the bathroom is on the main floor with the 1st floor bedroom. Bedrooms upstairs (set up for an adult room and kids room with 3 beds) is up a very steep staircase. This didn’t bother us, but our adult son, who stayed upstairs, mentioned it would be difficult taking kids to the bathroom during the night. Just a little something to add to the listing. Kind and communicative host, and we would definitely recommend it!

We spent two nights in Hellissandur during our trip to Iceland. This gave us time to explore the peninsula, and stay up late to watch for the northern lights! The location was perfect, and the photos don't fully convey how spacious the home is (comparing to other places we stayed during our trip). Two bedrooms (we only used one), a nice-sized kitchen, and a freezer. We would love to stay there again if we get the opportunity to return to Iceland.

We were very pleased. The location was excellent. You are surrounded by water, Kirkjufell, Icelandic horses, great restaurants and many attractions in the nearby Snaefellness National Park. The hostess was very nice and available at all times. For four people, the place was completely sufficient for two days. Swimming pools for children are also close by. If you want to travel to the north anyway, it is worth making a stop here.

We had a wonderful stay! Hjortur's Airbnb was one of the most beautiful Airbnb's I have ever stayed at. We originally had a hotel booked and decided last minute to cancel and book this lovely home so we would be more comfortable and be able to prepare our own meals. Bonus was right around the corner which was also very convenient. There was anything you could possibly need available for your use and the location was fantastic. Such a beautiful area. The weather didn't necessarily cooperate with us during our short two nights, but it didn't hold us back. The hot tub was much appreciated after a cold and snowy day exploring as well. I would love to go back and stay longer. Highly recommend! If you are looking to stay in this area, stay here.

Kristin was an incredible host, even going out of her way to answer all my questions about her historic house 😊. We were hoping to stay in Ísafjörður while visiting friends, but the Aldrei music festival was going on and the town was packed. We were happy to find this place in Flateyri, just 20 minutes away. The setting was gorgeous with snowy mountains all around! The place was quiet, with plenty of space for two people. The clothes dryer gave us trouble when trying to end the cycle early— the cooling fan ran for over 45 minutes before we could open the dryer door. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.

A lovely authentic old Icelandic house that has been renovated practically and tastefully. Great location. Wonderful to have access to a hot tub and sauna. Elín is a perfect host. We recommend the restaurant Fisherman, which is on the same street. We will come back. I have rarely slept as well as in this house.

It's a fascinating accommodation where the hosts most likely stay themselves. I have never seen such a well-stocked pantry in any Airbnb. The rooms are beautifully laid out. We did not get a chance to use the hot tub as we were too busy with our trip sightseeing, but seeing the northern lights from the backyard was compensation enough. There are a bunch of nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Overall, I can't think of anything that may need to be improved. Amazing stay!!
