Family-friendly vacation rentals in Takatsuki

Looked like the pictures. The only bad thing was that there was only one lock in the front door keeping anyone out.

Yumiko was the best host I have ever had through years of staying in different vacation rental in different countries. She and her husband welcomed us, gave us clear information about how to use the wash machine (very efficient), and helped us to learn Japanese customs. They also went out of their way to help us get an extra bicycle for my 9 year-old, in addition to the two bikes they have, one of them with a child seat. They also offered us their umbrellas when we were about to leave and it was pouring rain, although we didn’t need them. She also offered us snack for the kids and instant noodles, which came in handy when we were too tired to go out. Her house was sparkling clean, comfy, and convenient for us (two adults with two children). The location was very easy to find from subway, and their YouTube video helped too. Convenient stores and restaurants were close by, also a park w playground and railway museum. We biked for three days around the city, it was a lot of fun :-)

The house offers an authentic experience of a traditional Japanese home. Spacious, has spaces for guest room, living room, kitchen, bedroom, storage, dressing and a cute little backyard. Loved the bathroom amenities and enjoyed the bathing tub. The hosts were very kind and waited for us to arrive. They welcomed us in and walked us through all the amenities and operations in the house. They also showed us bus routes to all the popular Kyoto spots laid out on a map. They even provided a bike for our grocery runs etc. Everything we ended up needing was in the house, like umbrellas, full-length mirror, extra stools, washer-dryer. The backyard is smoking-friendly. Overall, very happy that we decided to stay at this property.

We had a great stay at this Airbnb! The property is beautifully maintained, and one of the highlights was the serene koi ponds that added a peaceful, relaxing vibe to the entire experience. The space is thoughtfully designed with great amenities — coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, butter, cookware, multiple sinks and separate bathroom areas made it super convenient for our group of 6. It was easy for several people to get ready at the same time without feeling crowded. The owner also went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, even bringing us air fresheners — such a thoughtful and responsive host. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for a group or anyone looking for a calm, well-equipped place to stay. Highly recommend!

By far our favourite accommodation in Kyoto and Japan. We felt right at home in this stunning traditional style house. We were welcomed with a beautiful tea set and treats laid out on the Chabudai. The music playing on our arrival added to the serene atmosphere. The bath was so relaxing and the bath salts made it perfect to soak after a long day exploring Kyoto. Would highly recommend this accommodation for couples or adult families. We managed the stairs to the second level easily.

사진과 똑같은 아주아주 깨끗한 일본식 복층 주택입니다. 호스트님은 친절하고 메시지 응답도 아주 빠릅니다. 그리고 숙소 이곳저곳에 이용자를 배려하는 요소가 많이 있어 감동이었습니다. 2층에는 독립된 방이 세개나 있고, 1층도 편히 잘 수 있는 다다미가 있습니다. 잘 수 있는 곳에는 모두 에어컨이 있다는 점도 아주 좋았고, 주방에 많은 식기들과 와인잔, 조미료도 구비되어 있어서 또한 좋았습니다. 그리고 이 곳에 묶을 예정이신 분들은 아침일찍 동네를 꼭 산책해보세요. 조용하고 예쁜 골목들과 기찻길, 그리고 도보로 7분 거리의 대나무숲까지.. 완벽합니다. 매우 만족한 최고의 숙소였습니다. 단점은 말할것이 거의 없지만, 한가지 말하자면 숙소로 들어오는 골목이 좁은편입니다. 저는 도요타의 복시(7인승) 차량을 가지고 갔는데, 숙소앞에 주차할때는 동료들의 도움을 받아서 그나마 수월하게 주차할 수 있었습니다. 차량이 도요타 복시보다 더 크다면 일본에서의 운전을 꽤 잘하는 분이거나, 호스트님이 제공하는 두번째 주차장을 이용하시는 것이 나을 것 같습니다. 이번에는 직장 동료들과 같지만, 다음에 가족들과 또 방문하고 싶은 숙소였습니다.

Gorgeous house for a family trip ! - Clean, spacious, felt like home immediately - The location is THE best IMHO. Easy to access subway, Eizan line and mt. Hiei is nearby - 7-11 is 20 sec walk! + river To sum up - for me it’s the best place to stay in Kyoto.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Location gives fantastic access to the city through the Green Line (Karasuma). Easy to access from Kyoto Station shinkansen. Less than ten minute walk to the Aeon Mall. All facilities in working order. The washing machine is very useful in extending the usefulness of your carried clothing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

Uzu is the sweetest/kindest host. She was very accommodating and helpful. I needed to check in a day later than scheduled and much later than expected and she was there as soon as we walked up to guide us in and explain everything necessary in the home from using remotes and properly using the shower since I don’t speak Japanese. She gave great recommendations also. She is awesome. Thank you so much. 😊

This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

Have never stayed in an Airbnb this unique in architecture. It’s 2 beautiful houses joined by a lovely garden and a walkway. One over 100 years old, and absolutely stunning, and the other a modern one with all amenities. And top it all a wonderful host, so kind and communicative.

We had a great stay and many thanks to the host, Will, for waiting for us on our day of check in. It was raining that day. We were not confident in parking our car in the given slot outside the house as the roads were quite narrow but were thankful to find a nearby carpark to park our car. Everything was perfect. Beds were clean and very comfortable. Nice kitchen with all the necessary amenities. Some toys were provided at the house to entertain my toddler while we get busy settling down. Very good TV entertainment too with Netflix etc available to connect. I appreciate if there can be block out curtains in the room with two beds. Sunrise comes early around 450am and I am a light sleeper so it is a bit too bright for me to sleep once daylight seeps into the room. Otherwise, this house is perfect for a family stay and will highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay here! It is conveniently located near a bus station (2mins) and a subway station (15mins). The house was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Instructions were very clear and everything in the house was labeled to prevent any confusion. Something to consider if travelling with older people is the steep steps that are required to go from the sleeping area to the bathroom. The host Minnie was very friendly and quick to respond! We appreciated the recommendations and added amenities that made the stay even more comfortable. Minnie was accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage past checkout. Would love to stay here again!

What a beautifully designed and exquisitely styled place! It was also very comfortable - of note, the bedroom is actually very large (unlike the photo would lead you to believe), the beds very comfy and there was the bonus of high-back, cushioned floor chairs to replace the floor cushions at the table which meant we could spend more time in the living room than I had envisaged. The location is superb - walking distance to Pontocho, walking or bus into Gion, and bus or metro to everywhere else. Ideal! The only downside was the traffic noise from the two large roads nearby. It was not noticeable until we went to bed but my wax earplugs totally fixed the problem. And despite this issue, I honestly would stay here again. It was such a unique experience.

What an amazing place and a wonderful host! I stayed here with my 6-person family and it was perfect for our stay in Kyoto. It is within walking distance to Gion and surrounding sites and offers a quiet refuge to the bustle of the city. We were extremely happy here and I highly recommend this home for your Kyoto trip.
