Vacation rentals in Takahiwai

Well equipped kitchen, big spacious house, great for our group of 5. At least a 10min flat walk to the beach, however a beach cart was needed if taking a beach cabana and chilli bins etc. We opted for a short drive to the beach when we were going for a few hours. Nice walk up the hill through bush to get to Whale Bay which was beautiful.

This is one of the best airbnbs I’ve stayed at. Situated on the coast of some of New Zealand’s best beaches, the property has easy walking access to a small private beach or enjoy Matapouri which is only a very short drive away. The property has every thoughtful amenity you may need which was so helpful if you want to bbq and eat at home. It’s fitted out to a super high standard with comfortable beds, linen and a great shower. It’s immaculately clean, nestled in stunning surroundings. Our host Angela continuously went above and beyond to offer the most outstanding service including fresh tomatoes from the garden and baked birthday muffins for my friend who was celebrating. If that wasn’t enough Angela offers massage therapy from her home which was reasonably priced and out of this world. A truly relaxing place, gorgeous quality and phenomenal host, I hope I can return to enjoy again!

Such a beautiful spot. The house was very clean and tidy on arrival. Clean sheets & towels - our large family group immediately felt right at home. There was plenty of space for our group of 12.. we didn’t feel crammed in and everyone had a very comfortable bed. The views were amazing, hosts were easily contacted and we were all very comfortable during our stay. Would highly recommend. The bucket of Easter eggs in the fridge were a lovely surprise too 🥰

We really enjoyed our stay. Highlights for us was listening to Kiwi so close to the accommodation, the outdoor table setting in a sheltered alcove and enjoying the spa with night skies above. The spa was super clean and positioned perfectly to laze back and look up at the night sky - brilliant! The space is very private. Ocean Beach was a short drive away - really nice. Great hosts. Highly recommended.

It was my first family holiday since 2017. The AirBnB was a new experience for me, but the hosts were respectful and their place was wonderful! I was able to bring our 2 x dogs which was great and I took them for a walk every morning, greeting others with their dogs on the way. My adult children loved being able to hang out at the beach and sit in the hot tub or use the kayaks on offer. My husband unfortunately worked every day but was able to enjoy to peace and quiet at night. Having a washing machine was practical and saved my workload when we returned home. We visited Charlies Gelato which was yum and I was able to purchase some beautiful wine from Brick Bay vineyard. Matakana was disappointing it felt like Auckland with long lines of traffic and expensive products however, the lady at Honest Chocolate was lovely. We fished off Scotts Landing and caught 5 legal snapper. All in all, I would highly recommend this AirBnB, absolutely the best holiday in a very long time. Thank you.

What a gem this place is! A beautiful modern and clean apartment right on the water. We had a lovely stay, despite it raining for most of the time and not being able to take advantage of the outdoor seating area or enjoy the incredible view. Russell and Michelle are such warm and friendly hosts.

Kathryn’s place was amazing! We loved our stay. I couldn’t believe how well stocked it was. Everything we needed was there. It was extremely comfortable. The hospitality was so welcoming and we felt right at home. The view and the serenity take the cake though. Not often you get ocean, mountains, pastures, cows etc all at one place. Definitely recommend.
