Vacation rentals in Takachiho, Nishiusuki District

The place and the location are both fantastic. It is extremely good value for money compared with our other accommodation in Kyushu. The onsen is great. Beds are comfy. Place is warm. View is spectacular. Close to kurokawa onsen town. Close to ski fields. Easy access from beppu (with winter tyres) For access: In winter you need winter tyres to get to Kurosawa onsen. And the property is a bit higher up. we had heavy snowfall, so chains would be preferable for the driveway (but we parked 5min walk away and walked up instead). The highway to get to kurokawa onsen was closed unless you have winter tyres or chains. So it is necessary

The accommodation was really spacious and pleasant! The surrounding area was quiet and I was satisfied that there was transportation not far away. The communication with the host was also good, so I was able to travel comfortably. Thank you!:)

It is a 160-year-old traditional Japanese building. Like a thatched-roof house in Korea, the roof is made of tree bark and thatch, so you can feel the unique Japanese architecture and housing. The interior is very spacious, and the dirt-floored kitchen is a space that gives a unique feeling to the indoor and outdoor. The bathroom and other amenities are also very clean and nice. It was the best place to feel Japanese.

The perfect place to stay near Mt. Aso! So peaceful and quiet, we loved it!

Nice central location. Easy to find, no issue with parking a Nissan Serena in the parking lot. Place is old, a bit dirty, but overall cozy. Bathroom shower water is a bit weak too.

This is a fabulous luxury stay. The space has been outfitted with the highest attention to detail. The experience is marvellous - Victoria can take you on a tour of the temple and give a bit of her husband’s family history. It was a little tricky to find initially (buy putting the temple in as the destination put us on the right track) and Victoria was in constant communication. It is within very close proximity to the Takachiho Gorge and a wealth of natural beauty. If you just want to chill the area is rural and very peaceful. We had the first night to ourselves and then shared with a very respectful group from Taiwan. Can thoroughly recommend.

The house had a beautiful ocean view! Convenience store is located in walking distance. We bought some foods there and cooked breakfast. The kitchen had condiment we need to cook quick breakfast. Two kids (4 year old and 6 year old) loved the place because it had a spacy living room they can play. I would definitely stay there again!

I think the photos and description are not enough to describe the comfort and pleasant accommodation they offer. You have all kinds of comforts, the onsen was the best part of course, but also the details in the house (maps on what to do in the city, instructions on how to use the tubs, shoes for every occasion, lots of towels..) it was exciting to stay here and we will definitely be back!
