Great for travel nurses!!….location will most likely be 30 mins or more out from job but this home is nice and makes you feel at home. Mimicks the exact picture as shown from full kitchen to room. Host provides small toiletries, towels, handrags to get started. Very quiet area, not much to do, but can drive to surrounding areas if need be. As for me Airbnb, work, sleep. Host is responsive when needed. Tvs in each room; including livimg room. Wifi has full bars; yet due to country area it can run a slow. Would book again.

This was our 2nd trip to Fortsville. It is a marvelous location surrounded by rolling hay fields. It has been very clean. Absolutely trying to make this a yearly destination.

We loved our stay at Julie’s charming farmhouse. As soon as you pull to the property, you are surrounded by a tranquil view and just instantly feel at peace. Upon entering the home we were greeted with a welcome basket of snacks and fridge full of drinks which was a nice surprise. The entire place was clean and smelled fresh. I even asked Julie which scent her wall plug was bc I liked it so much and she was happy to share. Her husband Tim was happy to give a tour of the property(it sits on 80 acres.) We were able to hunt during our stay. We also were able to fish from the 2 stocked ponds and I caught my first 3 catfish ever! We enjoyed our morning coffee taking in the views and at night. We were able to use the kitchen to cook full meals and at night sit by the fire pit down by the pond and see the stars. Tim set out firewood and extra chairs for us to use. Julie and Tim responded quickly to any questions and went above and beyond to make sure our vaca was enjoyable. We will be back!

Charlie is a fun, easy-going guy and excellent host! It was a pleasure staying in his home. The house is a historic farm house and he’s working to bring it back to it’s original charm. If you like the country and love old houses, this is a great place to stay. So much history in this small town in Virginia!! A number of friends and myself stayed with Charlie over a long weekend while we attended a dog show. Charlie couldn’t have been more hospitable as we came in with a large number of dogs. It isn’t easy finding a host that accommodate a group our size and we’re so happy to have found Charlie!

My family and I stopped here as it was halfway home on a road trip. It was so easy to get to and easy to get back on the highway too. The space was private, quiet and I jokingly told my husband I wish I had an excuse to come back because one night didn’t feel like enough. Awesome patio, comfy couch and the cutest decor. Seriously felt like home… maybe a little better.

We were visiting as a family to attend memorial services of a loved one in Emporia. The house, location, and serenity it provided us was just what our souls needed. Garvey was responsive, flexible, and very understanding of our needs. Exceptional property and host for sure.
