Family-friendly vacation rentals in South Dundas

This was the perfect addition to my wedding weekend! Julie made it extra special with a welcome sign and bottle of champagne to great my guests and I! The place is absolutely stunning, so warm, cozy and just what we needed for a wedding stay with the bridal party. It surpassed my expectations and Julie and her partner were wonderful - we even had a tour and learned some history on the place. Can’t wait to come back !

Erin's place was wonderful for our family of 12! We agree with the other reviews - the photos don't do it justice. It was clean and well-equipped. The only negative was that we arrived on a very hot and humid day, so we definitely very hot, with no AC. We brought some fans and did purchase some larger fans. The kitchen was perfect - we made most of our meals. We did go out one night and the Gran View and really like that suggestion. The paddle boards/kayaks and floats were so nice to not have to rent. The river is super calm before and after storms or in the mornings. We rented a pontoon boat from Wellsey Island, and it was dropped off at a nearby marina. We docked the boat on one side or the other of the dock, depending on the current or rough waters. We loved the quiet road for walks, and only a 25 minute drive to A-bay. The grill worked well. All in all, it was a great place!

Travelled to attend a family wedding. The cottage was ideally situated near other family members and the venue. Waterfront views were beautiful and beach access allowed us to enjoy kayaking-although it was still a little chilly for swimming ! Lilacs were in bloom and saw several deer both in the yard and at nearby nature reserve. The Point- provided great food and live music in walking distance!

Emily’s house was a dream and is highly recommended. Our family of 5 (with 3 kids under 10) spent a week at Emily’s house while in Ottawa to help out a family member. We were so grateful for Emily’s hospitality. As we were there during yet another wave of the pandemic, coupled with virtual school, we were basically in lockdown at the house - it could have been a very unpleasant week. Instead, it was truly wonderful to have Emily’s beautiful home to feel grounded in. The house was clean, comfortable, exactly as represented in the pictures, and we were struck by the attention to detail. The communication with Emily was perfect. After a week in the house, we joked about staying a week longer! There is no doubt that we will return.

We had a great family week away at David’s place and as a host he was super helpful. The view from the window/hot-tub/deck was fantastic, shame we could not bring it home with us! The weather was not great for the week, meaning limited time on the lake. We did manage a day on a hired boat, the other days we went on day trips to local towns and Ottawa by train from Brockville. We also did a city cruise of 1000 islands and attended the annual 1000 islands rib fest. The house was well equipped with all we needed for a great family stay and a relaxing week. For a BBQ recommend a trip to “The Butcher Shop”.

We stayed at Robin’s place for a weekend with 3 other families. Had a wonderful time and made full use of the great facilities. Highly recommended.

Highlights of the stay were a really great backyard with pool and hot tub. Beds were comfortable and place was very well equipped. Host was accommodating and responsive.

Great house at a great location. House was nice and warm despite the 0 degree weather with high winds. Driveway was maintained clear during 15” of snow. Great sledding on the property, ice fishing on the lake and cross country skiing on the rail trail that passes the house. Main floor and upper floor were great, lower level needs some TLC and the two lower level beds were very uncomfortable. No problem with the rest of the rooms. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of room to gather on the main floor. Could use a larger table, plenty of room in the house for our group of 13 but not a big enough table for us to all eat at together (kitchen island provided most of the needed extra spots). Overall a great place at a great location.

Absolutely beautiful. The hosts cared very much for the location and the needs and preferences of the guests. The unit is a 2nd floor stair-access location so may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations, but from the moment you open the door, you immediately feel a sense of “I could live here.” The decor was home-like and inviting, with all kitchen amenities readily available. Every detail was considered: from a spare umbrella at the coat-rack, to coffee-maker with supplies, to mixing bowls in the cupboards. Tucked underneath the TV was a collection of books with something to appeal to all ages and interests; and when that wasn’t enough, there was a deck of cards at hand — perfect for a rainy day. At night the neighbourhood is quiet and still, interrupted only by the early morning chirp of birds. The hosts were as engaged or discreet as a guest might desire and readily adapted to your needs. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank-you Josseline!

This is our second stay at the cabin and we had an amazing weekend . The cabin is exactly as described and the water is so clean and clear..Don is always super helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Already planning another weekend :)

Phyllis, & her daughter Jennifer, went above & beyond to make us, our 6yo & 12yo, and our crazy Bernedoodle feel very welcome. They seemed very happy to have us, and even offered us many of their personal things and private areas on their property to enjoy. Unique & beautiful surroundings that push you to relax, with a cozy/charming/glamping-style accommodation that makes you feel at home.

Lovely space across the street from Landsdowne. Everything we needed for a weekend in the Glebe.

We stayed at La Belle Denis cabin and it was literally as presented in the picture. The cabin is warm in winter with hot water ! Perfect for a weekend gateway. We love the quietness in winter and the trail on the property. We hope to comeback in Summer to check out the lake! Shu

Kristina has a wonderful property. Great location, fantastic amenities and a very comfortable home. Great location in Barrhaven as it was perfect for us visiting our family living in Ottawa. We hope to be able to stay at Kristina's in the near future.

This was a great home to come back to after spending the day exploring The Wild Center. It was clean, and we appreciated how close to the beach it was. No complaints!

Camp Timberock is a rare find. We chose the cabin because of the unlimited options for paddling and hiking. Despite the cold temperatures, we took advantage of the area and spent a lot of time exploring. One of my favorite parts of Timberock would be the deck with the outdoor fireplace. We also appreciated all of the supplies in the kitchen, the extra blankets and the endless supply of wood for the fire. Hope to return next year!

Nick's place has a great vibe to it. There are a lot of amenities including kayaks which were a great activity to do. The host communicates very fast. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back!

Anne’s place was a great spot to stay while we visited family in the area! It was private and quiet and the surroundings were so peaceful! We’ll definitely be back!

What a lovely spot! Susan & family were so welcoming, my 4 year old loved getting to meet the many beautiful critters surrounding the guest house (getting toppled over by a friendly goat just added to the adventure!). The space is thoughtfully laid out to maximize the views, and the bed & furnishings are super comfortable. This was a staycation for us and it was truly a treat to have such a relaxing getaway in our own neighborhood.

Very spacious comfortable accommodation. No easy place to go for a walk other than the main road, and driving required for food and drink.

This is the only place I'll stay at from now on in Alexandria Bay, the house sits right in the water and has amazing views of the river and bolt castle. There is a lot of space on the property including fire pits throughout and a nice pool.

Our family loved the stay . It is such a hidden gem .This place had everything we needed for relaxing stay . Host was responsive too . Definitely coming back in future.

Nicholas was a great host. Everything was as described and the location is beautiful. If we are in the area again, we will return to this spot!

Fantastic hosts and a great location with lots of space and piece and quiet on the river shore. Loved the hammocks hanging up in different places. The pool was clean and our girls loved having it to themselves. The cottage(s) could do with an little upgrade especially the kitchen but beds were comfortable and it did have all we needed for 2 days including a barbecue.
