Wonderful getaway in Iceland

The cabin is well suited for a couple who love nature, views that inspire and wish for privacy. It was immaculately clean and well cared for. It is also in a good location if you wish to travel for day trips to Borgarnes, Hvammsvik Hot springs and Thingvellir national park.

Contemporary Farmhouse With Amazing Views

CynthiaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We feel so fortunate to have spent 2 glorious nights at Halldor’s house with our 2 college-aged sons. The house design is exquisite: a perfect blend of simplicity, style, and sophistication but lacking in pretension. The house is designed with windows and glass doors looking out over the property. In every direction there are rolling fields and river views. We loved dunking in the river and racing up to the sauna. We also loved the outdoor shower. We lit a fire each night and cooked meals in the wonderful kitchen. The only downside to the house is that you never want to leave it! But we did enjoy going into town. The Settlement museum offered a very good intro to Iceland history. This was a perfect place for us to stay on our way to the West Fjords. I truly hope we come back and stay much longer next time. Thank you, Halldor, for creating such a beautiful home.

Glacial Glass Cabin

Do not miss out on this amazing stay during your Iceland trip! This modern cabin offers a remote escape with breathtaking views, making it an ideal hub to see the South Coast. You can unwind by sipping tea inside the cabin and immersing yourself in the surrounding nature, or take a refreshing dip in the hot tub outside as the cool breeze blows through your hair. The house has blackout curtains to keep the space dark during the long summer nights. The owner is kind and responsive, ensuring a smooth check-in and checkout process with clear instructions. While the cabin is located on a gravel road, we had no issues navigating it on a dry summer day in a small car. Bottom line: this cabin is perfect for an individual or a couple seeking a peaceful getaway from the crowds!

Words cannot fully express what a wonderful time we had at Ragga’s cabin. The location absolutely cannot be beat. Close to Reykjavik and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, lakeside with a sauna and hot tub overlooking an incredible view. Every morning we started our day with an espresso in the sauna and a soak in the tub, then headed out on an adventure. Also very close to the Hvammsvik hot springs which were nothing short of magical. Thank you for providing a perfect home base for a wonderful trip, Ragga and family!

Shocked this property doesn’t have more reviews! We booked very last minute when we decided to visit Iceland and Hekla was very responsive and flexible. Her place was incredible. It was very cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Has all the amenities you could think of. The washer came in clutch! Easily walkable anywhere downtown. I would highly recommend staying here when you plan on visiting Reykjavík!
