Beachfront vacation rentals in Shoal Bay

The house was very nice and in a great location for anyone with dog's. Only 5 minutes walk to the dog friendly beach and half an hour's walk into town. As we haven't been to the area before, Clare's recommendations of things to do were excellent for the whole family.

Benny’s was the perfect place for our 4 night getaway! Comfy beds, a dedicated work space (which my teens used as a gaming desk 😂), very clean, a few minutes walk to the beach and to the long coastal path to Nelson Bay. Pets are very well catered for. The place is so well stocked, I found I brought lots of items I didn’t need to use because they were provided. The house is just so well organised that it made sense - which made for an easy stay. Very generous welcome platters and drinks. Easy peasy check in and check out. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Quiet street. We did sunset at Gan Gan lookout which was spectacular and only a 7 minute drive away. We also did a whale watching cruise which was great. Thanks Sarah for a wonderful relaxing holiday! We’ll be back again soon I hope 😁

We had a great stay at Warwick’s place. Ideal location - both walking distance to the beach and strip of restaurants and cafes. The lounge and dining furniture differs to what is listed in the pictures, however that did not impact our stay.

We had an amazing time at the property. The views were amazing and it was such a lovely place to sit and unwind. The house was in immaculate condition and Steven was a fantastic host. Would stay again!

The house is beautifully located right by the water, with a lovely morning glow. The room was clean and comfortable. The host was very kind, welcoming, and respectful of our space. My family and I truly enjoyed a quiet and peaceful weekend here — thank you for the warm hospitality.

10 stars! The longer you stay in Keran’s studio (and Newcastle) the longer you will want to stay. As frequent airbnb’ers we SO appreciate the considerate built-in storage spaces, HOOKS (!), all the kitchen supplies needed to cook meals, etc.! Keran spoiled us: cheeses, fruit, butter, gluten free crackers (she asked about dietary requirements!), OJ and more. Any anxiety about lack of outdoor space was quelled by a cute cozy basement style patio and the fact that Newcastle Beach and its shaded chill spaces is only a few minutes’ walk away. I have to mention the bathroom which had the most sophisticated lighting I have seen. Plus a great shower, just bring your shampoo. Public transport is nearby but we were happy to have a car to explore and traffic was a non-issue. Smaller car is best. Restaurants in walking distance as well as ocean pools (a must!). Best grocery stores by car. We met Keran who was great about checking in w/us and suggestions. She lives above in this historic complex.

Great overnight stay. The lady in reception was very welcoming and informative. Clean and quiet. Will be back.

Make sure that you visit this property once in your lifetime. The property is luxurious, the amenities are six star and the view is to die for! We watched a pod of dolphins round up a school of baitfish from our balcony, it was something out of a National Geographic documentary! This property is incredible and the hosts went out of their way to make our stay a trip to remember, the service and hospitality they offered was flawless. Much appreciated.

Narelle’s place is situated perfectly 2 mins walk from beautiful Little Beach and other attractions/activities in this area of Port Stephens. The apartment was beautiful and spotless with a fully stocked kitchen with everything you may possibly need as well as games and rackets for the tennis court. Parking was available on site. Additionally Narelle was quick to respond to any queries I had. I would definitely recommend Narelle’s place. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

The Love Nest is truly a love nest. Both my husband and I absolutely adored our time in Kristins special sanctuary. It is so well equipped with everything you need and right across from the beach. The sounds of the birds and waves are truly magic from both the balcony and inside. We cant wait to come back as was an exception stay. Our gratitude.

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment! The views of Fingal Bay were absolutely spectacular, and the short walk to the beach made it even better. We loved having the little grocery store and cafés just downstairs—so convenient. The underground parking and elevator access straight to the second-floor apartment were a huge plus. The large covered balcony was perfect for relaxing, and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. We also appreciated how peaceful the area was while still being close to amenities. The only minor issue was sometimes the buses will idle at the bus stop near the apartment and if you have your doors open it can be a bit loud. But it’s only a couple of times per day we noticed it. Definitely recommend the apartment.

This was such a peaceful, relaxing stay. We loved the views and the rainbow lorikeets that visited of an afternoon! My partner and I were travelling on our honeymoon and this is such a phenomenal space that has been created, with a luxurious feel and stunning views, with lots of great places to see, restaurant and cafes to visit! Mitch recommended some things to do and places to see which was also very helpful! I would definitely recommend this space to couples travelling and would love to come back in the future!

We had a great stay at Colleen’s. The location is amazing with beach, cafes and a supermarket at walking distance. The house was clean, well-equipped and very comfortable.

I found our stay extremely relaxing a step back in time may not suit another looking for modern convenience. I am use to using dam water. Some items need maintenance Electric blanket not working one side of bed. Some light bulbs need replacing. There was mould on cooking utensils and a strong ammonia smell when opening cupboard doors. I am only mentioning to alert you to these issues. I washed items I needed.

Sharon’s place was perfect for us our son was getting married. We had family coming from NT, SA and overseas we had 9 adults staying. The house was the perfect size we easily fitted in, the living areas were great we spent a lot of time on the deck. Perfect place for catching up. The lounge room had perfect lighting to have our hair and makeup done there were six of us having it done. We spent 4 nights there the girls enjoyed the beach being so close. The house had everything we needed the kitchen was well equipped.

Stephan's place is lovely. My wife loved the decor. Some very pretty touches that helps to make you feel relaxed and in a home away from home. Convenient location for what we wanted to see and do in Nelson Bay. 15 minute walk along the bay foreshore to the shopping centre and marina. Highly recommended. Hopefully we'll be back around the same time next year.
