Marina is an excellent host full of stories of the area. Superb homemade cakes to meet you. Definitely recommend staying here

My first ever visit to Shetland was very eventful as it coincided with Èowyn hitting the UK, which drastically altered my plans. Doreen was very understanding, we communicated constantly when my trip went awry. she was very welcoming and helpful whilst I was on Shetland, going out of her way to make me a lovely bowl of porridge for breakfast on my one and only morning. I would not have any hesitation in booking again with Doreen. As a single traveller, I felt welcome and safe! Doreen also knits the most amazing hats, at a very reasonable price!

My stay with Dave and Debbie for wool week was absolutely wonderful. They are so welcoming and have a beautiful home. Broonie and Wee Boy were also lovely! The house itself is in such a beautiful location - very peaceful and relaxing. The guest facilities were great with plenty of room to relax in the evenings and cook my dinners. The bedroom is very quiet and has a comfortable warm bed. Debbie’s breakfasts were wonderful and kept me going for several hours. This is by far the best Airbnb I have every stayed at. I had a lovely time and will definitely stay again the the future!

Had everything we needed and in a great location within walking distance for everything especially the Yp Helly Ah that’s what we went for.

Great communication, very helpfull, Clean n Quiet. Central for every thing I required. Fully recommend for anyone visiting Shetland. ( Not suitable for anyone disabled that cant go up steps though)

I had a fantastic stay, it really suited my visit to Shetland. Great location for exploring the islands. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable and Laureen was great at communication re check in and check out. Exceeded my expectations - I was expecting it to be good but it was perfect.

Beautiful home-away-from home with lovely hosts! Lerwick is a special town on its own, but our experience as first time visitors was truly elevated with guidance from Jane and John. We are sad to leave but look forward to our return sometime in the future!!

This is the second time I stayed at the Aurora Guest House hosted by Andrea. As usual, my room was lovely with a most comfortable bed. Besides the fine accommodations, Andrea is an outstanding host. Welcoming, thoughtful, delightful with gracious hospitality. An added bonus is Bo, Andrea's adorable well mannered pup. Most definitely, the best dog in Lerwick. Thank you, Andrea for a fine visit.

What a very nice experience for our first visit to Shetland! Very engaging couple, wonderful accommodations with a view of historical Lewrick, great homemade breakfast and location very convenient near waterfront and best places to visit. To top it off, we loved their Sheltie sheepdog to remind us of ours back home. We would love to come back. Thanks Jeff and Anona for a memorable stay!

Very good location, great view! Coming from the ferry by foot take the path along the shore (not throughLerwick as your navigation device may suggest) as Lerwick is pretty hilly! This way it is flat and easiest to find, too.

Amanda and Peter welcomed us into their home. Buzz and Isla also gave us a warm reception when we arrived, Nala said hi too. The facilities at North Ness house were exceptional and you could not want for more. The breakfast was superb and we enjoyed the sassermaet. We both enjoyed chatting with you and thank you for answering our questions around life in the Shetland Islands.

We had a great two days at Belmont with Martin as a host. It felt more like visiting a friend than checking in at a hotel. The Belmont is converted to something like a small private hotel that takes only two or sometimes three parties. The first night he cooked dinner just for us. The second day we took the ofer for a guided tour of Unst after a great cooked breakfast. The evening again dinner with the other couple. Martin cooked a local specialty. The Belmont is a 250 years old house beautifully renovated. All the rooms had soul, with plenty of space. Do not expect a regular shower though. Here the only option was bathtubs. There are also nothing nearby, but if you want to go somewhere in the evenings (there is one pub on the island), you may ask Martin if he can drive you. We loved Belmont, Martin and Unst and would love to visit again.

Nice BnB with many self catering breakfast options, plus homebake choices. Clean room in the heart of downtown. House is over 200 yrs old so expect smaller than usual accommodations.

I had a lovely stay at Amanda and Peter’s with my dad. We were visiting Shetland for work, and it was so lovely to have such a warm, welcoming home to come back to after work! It felt like coming home at the end of the day, with thoughtful touches From Amanda like turning on the heaters in our rooms before we came home. Breakfasts were delicious (would definitely recommend the cooked breakfasts, especially the sassermeat!) the snug area is ideal for evening relaxing or preparing a light dinner, which we did one evening. Bedrooms were cosy, and beds comfy and can’t forget to mention the beautiful view from the bedroom window! The location is great - we were even lucky enough to see the northern lights. Thank you Amanda and Peter for a great stay!

Had an amazing stay at Belmond House. The place was stunning, better than the actual pictures and Martin was by far one of the best hosts we ever had. Will recommend this place and would gladly come back. A unique experience, made special by a warm, friendly and great host.
