This is a piece of heaven on earth. It is a beautiful location in the mountains. Ideal for writers wanting to finish a book or people that want time to slow down. I met some of the most caring people in 4 weeks of travel here. The local bar and supermarket is a mist visit. It is quiet and peaceful and I will be returning to this place!

Domingo and his wife Olinda are absolutely gems that I will always treasure in my Heart! I had a lot of questions initially before booking and they were kind to answer everything I needed to know! My stay was super peaceful, the little house was cool on a warm summers day and I slept very good in the bed! It was a blessing to receive home grown yummies from the farm (Potatoes, tomato, apples, grapes, herbs...) and I took some walks into the stunning nature behind the house. I would return there in a heartbeat. The only thing I did not check before booking (which turned out to be a good thing) was that theres NO WIFI - this would't bee something for working travelers that rely on good internet. Also I'd only book in the summer as theres only one coal oven in the kitchen but no other heating in bedroom. This stay is ideal with car. I stayed 5 days without car and I was so grateful that Olinda took me with her to farmers market and supermarket so I had enough food for my stay :) Loved it

Great place in a pretty and private environment! Perfect quinta to relax before going back to work! The owner was really responsive and friendly, giving us privacy too. Awesome stay and highly recommended!

Fantastic space for a family retreat. Very nice and very clean house. Excellent and welcoming decoration, I considered the space in reality better than in the pictures! Surroundings with great tranquility. Super helpful and attentive host who brought us fresh bread every morning and a regional snack. Ease of check-in and check-out. We took our patuda who also loved the space and the neighborhood. We went a week in August and were positively surprised by the absence of typical crowds of these sites at this time of year. I strongly advise.

We felt absolutely comfortable in the cottage. So good that we even extended our stay spontaneously. Our children were allowed to use the existing toys and were very happy with them. We were pleased with the citrus fruits and the delicious olive oil. The welcome was very warm, even if we did not meet the hosts themselves. They were very interested in whether everything was a good fit and were always available. The beds were super comfortable and the nights quiet. The area is very scenic and lushly green. There are great hiking opportunities and river swimming spots. Thanks for the wonderful time!

We like the house very much. Huge, well-equipped and well-kept. Excellent space for families with pets, lots of outdoor space. Andrew was extremely friendly and helpful, quick to respond and generous in letting us check out late. The tree swing was a huge success! We recommend and will come back!

Fernanda's place is wonderfully Cool... it's clean, smelly, comfortable, nice, super in peace and quiet. Perfect for resting and enjoying the region. Fernanda is a great host and so is her pets. It's a place to feel at home... Loved it! For me it's 5*... I'll come back whenever I can, as it will be my favorite spot in Dornes 🌹💚🩷

we had a fantastic time at Eva's home she was very warm amd responsive. My husband and I went with the 3 children and there was enough space to accomodate us all. The pool was welcome from the heat of Central Portugal, the garden and Parrot were a treat. It is a place you can go back to and stay and the price was affordable. Thanks Eva xxx

Pete and Linda are the best hosts we've ever had on Airbnb. They both went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable, from local restaurant recommendations to pool toys and everything in-between. Our daughter had an amazing holiday! The house itself is charming, with tonnes of space and everything you could need. The pool is fantastic and well kept. The local area is remote and beautiful with gorgeous countryside everywhere and some charming river beaches. I managed a run down from the house to the beach and back a couple of times but it's pretty hilly. In short, we couldn't recommend this place more. Thanks

My family and I had a lovely week with Denise and her daughter. The apartment was lovely bright and spacious, with 3 good rooms. We especially enjoyed the garden, pool and lemon tree. It was easy to drive out to the many beautiful cities and hikes.

Our host was very flexible and friendly. Thank you dear Tiago. The space matches the description and our expectations. There is air-conditioning throughout the house, including in the bathroom (fan), great! Very nice outdoor space where our dogs enjoyed themselves very much. The space is 100% sealed. For those who like to walk and/or run/trail, just 50m up there is a trail to enjoy the mountains👌⛰️. Thanks again to Tiago for the conditions offered and for his friendliness and availability.

Beautiful scenery. Perfect for a mini-vacation with all the conditions and tranquility. We took our dog who loved all the space so he could run and play.

Best Airbnb we have ever stayed at! Views and location were breathtaking. Eric’s Airbnb was extremely clean & had everything you could need. Eric was an amazing host who went above & beyond for us. Very proactive & helped out with any request we had, even when we needed to find a vet for my dog he was very responsive. The pool was incredible, hiking down to the lake & kayaking will be my favourite parts of our holiday. Already planned a trip for next year!!!

The accommodation was booked on the same day, very responsive and understanding, on our arrival we were expected, the welcome was very warm and family-like, I highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic 5 day stay. Lynne greeted us and showed us around. A very well positioned little cottage with spectacular views lots of privacy and everything else you need. It had a little kitchen with all essentials and warmth from either Ac or the log burner made it really comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay we hope to come again sometime.

Top place to camp, enough private space in the green valley to put a tent. Possibility to join a delicious breakfast buffet, where Liedewij takes our dietary requirements into account. Also the dinner was generous and very tasty. Our dog was able to run around there and was welcome.

Your home is very well equipped and when we arrive we realise that nothing is missing for our convenience. We love the game/cinema room that makes the delight of any child and its sofas the delight of those who rest comfortably. On a next visit it will be summer to enjoy the magnificent swimming pool! This is a great space in a real out-of-the-way part of Portugal. Tired of big city tourism? Try this property. Tiny villages dot the hills and you get an old world sense of Portugal here. The pool is the real star of the property here (as are Eric's three dogs, one of which lounged with us each morning) as it overlooks he view of the river. We did use the kayaks as well. It is hard to get to them down a very steep hill with ladders and a bit of minor repelling. Not for those with a bad knee or hip. Which gets me to, accessing the apartments, particularly the lower unit, is tricky. Steep, slanting and uneven steps that can be a little slippery. Perhaps not for the elderly. Hint for improvement would be to upgrade the furnishings and kitchenware. The knives couldn't cut an orange.

It was really wonderful when it stopped raining and we could have breakfast on the cozy little terrace and read for hours in the shade on the loungers. Great view of the reservoir! Thank you, Francisco! Also for the vitamin in the form of fresh oranges and the provided juicer!

Thanks again for the wonderful time at your place. We are still enchanted by the beautiful, quiet place in the middle of the mountains. You have furnished this home with a lot of love for detail and keep the place very natural and very clean.  One of our highlights was your great common areas such as the beautiful, tastefully furnished terrace and the cozy "honesty bar" including library. The hidden waterfall, which you can hike to, was also particularly great for us. The time with you felt like a little journey of discovery. Everything was thought of in our accommodation – from the bathrobe to the hot water bottle. So you can enjoy this place in any weather.
