Cottage vacation rentals in Sabaragamuwa Province

Our stay was completely successful! The host was extremely polite and always available. If we needed anything, we could easily contact him via chat message – he usually responded immediately and quickly took care of our concerns. Particularly noteworthy is that he drove us to the next accommodation on the day of departure at a fair price. The rooms were nicely decorated, the grounds lovingly and attractively designed. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere – we can clearly recommend this place!

I have to say that this was my favourite stay in Sri Lanka. The property is very interesting, green and full of life. The people are even better, Kumari and Wasana made my stay unforgettable. Kumari is a great cook, from breakfast to dinner I was always delighted with everything. And I'm not an easy costumer. Wasana is very kind and made me feel always comfortable, responding ASAP to any request. She even nailed a mosquito net in the roof of the cottage for me! Many thanks to both of you and Mr Neil for always helping me when needed. It's on my plans to comeback one day!

This beautiful cottage is small, and perfect for a small family. Since Nuwera Eliya gets a bit cold at night, the cozy bed rooms and the blankets provided by Thidasala came to our rescue. His father took care of us so well, since Thidasala was not in town when we visited. We appreciate that. The view from the room of the Gregory Lake is brilliant. The wifi is good. We had a small kitchen as well. The bathroom was clean and we had hot water. This place is perfect for a small family who wants to enjoy the city, and not be in the rush. Their hospitality was amazing. 5 star from me.

Only stayed one night at Sandun's place, but a fabulous stay. Went on a great safari tour organized my the host, just a few minutes after checking it. The safari was fantastic with a guide who really knows his stuff, with a keen eye, he kept spotting the animals, that would otherwise not been noticed. After the tour we had a great srilankan dinner at the stay, and then again breakfast in the morning. Delicious!! Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay here - peaceful and quiet away from the main road, and beautiful gardens to relax in. Dasun went above and beyond to be helpful, including sending on an extremely important item we had left behind! Great communication and a really kind and friendly host. Highly recommend 💜

Ajith was an incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and hospitable host. From the beginning of our booking process to the moment we left, he was helpful and kind. He arranged drivers to and from Udawalawa, as well as a safari. He went out of his way to make us feel at home, including accommodating our dietary needs and wants. The food is made on site and is excellent, always served with a smile. I would recommend Ajith’s establishment to anyone passing through Udawalawa! Thanks for everything!

Absolutely wonderful experience. The host was very responsive from the time of booking. Beautiful surroundings. The staff at the property were very warm and welcoming. Delicious food options which were very cheap. All staff were very eager to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. They were very keen to hear our feedback on any improvements but we felt the property already ticked all the boxes. It is in a remote location so my advice is to plan accordingly to ensure you will find the place and have a way of getting to and from the property transport wise. However, the staff are so helpful that they will arrange transport for you if you’re stuck as you can’t get taxis there. Highly recommend the place for a nice peaceful family getaway or a fun weekend with friends and always nice to support a family/workers who genuinely try so hard to make it a pleasant experience.

If you like not being in the busy city center of Kandy but do like some more fresh air, stay at this place! We had a tuktuk what made the travel to the house more easy, otherwise you'll have a little walk up. Shops and restaurants are near and if you don't use the equipped kitchen they provide you, than Uber Eats will provide you everything! We went hiking in the Knuckles with some help of Indrajith. He speaks flawless English and he and his parents are the most welcoming people.

Lovely colonial-style bungalow, in a great location. The tea estate is fantastic, just wandering around and saying hello to the villagers was fun. Lots of walks to do nearby (the descent from Idulgashina station is a beautiful, easy hike, and the walk down through Bathgoda village is great for counting all the different fruit and vegetables being grown). Otherwise just sit on the verandah and read a book, enjoy the view, or sleep off one of Pria’s excellent meals.

The little cabana is located next to the main hotel and had a beautiful view. Everything was impeccable. All the staff were fantastic helping us with some useful local tips. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend.

Very quiet, beautiful setting and views from accommodation. The local people were very friendly. Lacked good restsurants but we took into account the location was not a popular tourist area. We visited other areas and stayed a few nights at each to enable us to get around and spend time at costal locations. We all had a very peaceful relaxing holiday.

A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Although tricky to find with the road up to the cottage being very steep it was worth the drive. Location is quite remote but the host could not have been more helpful and responsive with local recommendations. We also had a lovely tour of the plantation, amazing vanilla pods (just beware of the leeches!) Food was good and the setting for meals was beautiful, but there were a few stray dogs in the garden to be aware of. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Maljini.

This place was beyond my expectations and it was worth every bit of penny we paid. The place has a private courtyard kind of place where you can sit and chill. The bedrooms , hall were beyond expectations and this can easily host upto 5 people. This is one of my best Airbnb experience I've had. The housekeeper was also very friendly and guided us with everything related to this place . Every other review got me worried that this place might be old looking, but it is just the old style and it looks as good as new

One-night stay at this simply perfect place! Manesh and her mother were such kind and caring hosts. The apartment is very clean and has a full kitchen. We even took the opportunity to cook during this evening! The second floor with the games and the beautiful garden were a great bonus to this short stay. Close to the main town on foot, the cottage is located on a quiet little street. We would definitely recommend this listing! Thanks again.

What an amazing stay at the gate house! I had such an enjoyable experience in this lovely little cozy and stylish cottage. The space is very nicely decorated and comfortable and the mattress I slept on was out of this world! I enjoyed a lovely local breakfast and possibly the best rice and curry lunch that I have ever eaten cooked by Jayanthi and her family. I can definitely recommend this as a great place to stay. Shaunagh was very quick to respond to my booking and also gave me some great information about local places to visit including a hike up the close by Bible rock which was amazing. Thank you very much Shanaugh for a wonderful stay.
