If you know anything about surfing the names Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Josh Kerr & Bede Durbidge might ring a bell. Well this is their brewery called Balter. It's only been around for a year and they're killing it! The brewery itself cost them millions to fit out and it's a great place to hang with locals. Their IPA and XPA are delicious ;)

Did someone say Acai Bowls? It's becoming a competitive scene on the coast but when it comes to a top notch Acai bowl I can't go past Down2Earth Organics. The Peanut Butter bowl and the Cherry Ripe Bowl are my favs ;)

If you're not watching the calories then you need to check out Ze Pickle. American grub style food with a twist. These guys go to the extreme with some of their meal combinations. Just don't eat 24 hours prior to going.

Burleigh Heads National Park is a must. One of the only places on the coast where rainforest meets beach. The walk is pretty mild and you can do it at your own pace. Otherwise head to the hill in the afternoon to have a few drinks and watch the sunset

Local wildlife sanctuary a short 10 minute bus ride from the house. ps Groupon are usually running some kind of offer so be sure to check that out. The Kangaroo enclosure is awesome as you can get up close and feed them.
