One of the largest and best beer selections in Richmond. Fun bar games and always a lively crowd. This is a good "go to" bar that is consistently great and a good place to stop in with groups.

Parks & Nature

Incredible botanical garden that is kept up year round with themed displays. Always spectacular during the winter when they put lights on throughout the whole park. There is a tea garden restaurant in the gardens which serves small meals and drinks and is one of my favorite lesser known attractions of the Richmond area.

Features beautiful walking trails, 18 hole disc golf course with long and short tees, soccer fields, playgrounds, and pavilions. There are always people relaxing and playing and it's a huge park with lots of space to get away from the city feel and be around nature. Also a great area to get in a run.

Right on the James River, with a scenic view of the downtown skyline. This is where I like to go for mountain biking and sunsets. There are some fun rapids if you're feeling extra adventurous. Very popular in the summer months!

Go to for emergency supplies from batteries to baby wipes. This is usually a clean and well stocked walmart, although the checkout lines are sometimes a bit frustrating, especially after 9pm because they close a lot of the cash registers.
