Entertainment & Activities

This brewerie is a « never miss » kinda place. It’s always fun, beer is delicious and service is really on point. Not your typical « pub food » with a really good ever changing menu (even has a couple good vegetarian options), weather it’s in the middle of the afternoon or in the evening, always a good ambiance.

This neighbourhood *tastes* good! Little Italy (do I have to say more?!), Jean-Talon Market, Café Pista, microbreweries, cafés, little mom and pop shops… it’s very artsy and very homie, walk around on Beaubien close to Saint-Laurent, or wander East closer to Masson and Molson Park.

Okay hear me out: it looks like nothing but the food is simple and delicious (absolute best fried chicken in town I stand by that statement), the natural wine is outstanding and the homie vibe is just amazing! Make it a date night in Rosemont and go to Cinéma Beaubien, hang out by Molson Park and grab dipped icecream at l’Affaire est Chocolat.

Right around the block from home, really-really-really good pastries and coffee, I 100% recommend if you wanna treat yourself.

Parks & Nature

It starts in the Old Port and rides for several km on the water side providing a beautiful path for running, biking (take a Bixi or rent a bike and enjoy the view!), or walking across the city. Take a moment to admire the architecture of Habitat 67 on the other side of the water, and the silos of the industrial area of the old port, then enjoy the tranquility of the canal side.

You cannot miss this: Go up the Mont-Royal both for the view and for the experience! It is a short hike for the adventurous tourist, but there also is a shuttle that leaves from Mont-Royal metro station that drops you off on top, and even goes around to the Oratory (also very beautiful). Pack a picnic and wander outside of the main paths for extra special and romantic experience! There is also the Tam-Tam jams on Sunday, across from the Jeanne Mance park, that are an epic Montreal tradition.

Okay but there is so much there! Try to make it to Piknic Electronic on Sundays if you're a fan of music. There even is a beach right on the Gilles Villeneuve F1 Circuit! Either cross the bridge by foot for extra sight seing (oh yeaaah!) or take the yellow metro line for direct access. They also have shuttles to both the beach, La Ronde, Habitat 67, The Biosphere and the Casino.

The best for runners! Gorgeous park with a little pond in the middle with a fountain. After a stroll in the park, discover the Plateau neighbourhood full of wonders and grab a coffee or ice cream (I love Les Tropiques on Rachel street) and enjoy life the way it is lived here.

Sightseeing

The Mile-End is *so* trendy! Go on Fairmount for fresh and warm bagels, then for 5$ gnocchis next door, then for delicious icecream at KemCoba, than walk up Saint-Laurent and get lost in all the little stores. Do not hesitate to follow the locals into Club Social for a latté and hang out on Saint-Viateur and Bernard. Time is slow here.

This includes the Biodôme, Planetarium, Botanical Garden, Insectarium, and is located in the '76 Olympic Village! Awesome activity for all! I recommend taking a package with 2 sites, because trying to do it all is way too much to take in in only one day! My favourite sites are the Biodôme and the Botanical Garden, to which you could add another site: for example Biodôme+Planetarium when it's raining and Botanical Garden+Insectarium when it's sunny! Also: GO SEE THE VIEW FROM THE TOWER!

The most gram-friendly café in the Mile-End, everywhere you look it’s cute and colorful. If you are lucky you will meet Jocelyn – the owner – who is the most charming person I know! The hipster/queer/designy café you don’t want to miss out on. And it’s perfect to top off an afternoon of wandering in the neighborhood.
