3rd-Generation, Transitional Organic Apple Orchard. Our family has proudly been growing apples here since 1946. Today we grow more than two dozen varieties including modern dessert apples, nearly forgotten heritage cultivars, and vintage cider fruit. These sugar-laden fruit are hand-harvested and slowly fermented into delicious craft ciders which we blend, bottle, and share at our orchard ciderhouse. Our acres of old, standard apple trees clean the air, capture carbon, provide animal habitat, and of course - produce an abundance of delicious apples perfect for crafting into cider. Our little farm-to-table restaurant is starting small but has big heart. With a wood-fired grille at its center and an abundance of Okanagan produce to work with, we are pleased to bring you our soft opening menu - with a small selection of dishes giving a glimpse to what is to come. 4667 East Vernon Road Vernon, BC

Jeff and Halee Fried have been farming for 30 years and their children are now the third generation committed to growing good food for great people. People ask about where the name Farmstrong came from, to answer that we need to go back. As a newly married couple Jeff and Halee started farming in 1989. A small acreage in Armstrong was purchased and the couple built a poultry farm from the ground up. It was familiar territory as Halee's parents had been poultry farmers since the '70's. Over the years Jeff added a beef cattle herd to the existing poultry operation. All four of the couple's children helped work on the family farm daily. With love of nature and the environment the couple always worried about sustainability and lessening their impact on the planet. In 2009 a decision was made to compost all the waste from the poultry and cattle so much time and energy went into learning as much as possible about compost. A great product was produced that other farmers could use to enhance their soil and crops. All food and paper waste from the family home and cidery are composted on a daily basis. In 2018 son's Mitchell and Griffin purchased the compost business. The boys continue to supply organic market gardeners, wineries, orchards, garlic growers and home gardens up and down the Okanagan Valley with great compost! A number of these compost customers are now suppliers for our cidery. We believe in fostering relationships and connections to help build a community and besides they are all just great people. In 2016 Jeff and Halee purchased a century old farm steeped with history and deeply rooted in the agriculture community of the Okanagan Valley. Looking for ways to make the farm more viable Halee wanted to explore her fascination with cider and Jeff wanted to restore the heritage barn on the site, the two ideas were married and the idea of Farmstrong was born. We are so pleased you have chosen to visit our site. Since the spring of 2016 Jeff and Halee along with their sons Mitchell and Griffin have been working hard to make premium craft (small batch) ciders along with restoring a heritage barn built in 1896. 4300 Maw Rd, Armstrong, BC

The Okanagan Rail Trail was created by converting the former CN Rail line that runs from Coldstream to Kelowna into a multi-use pathway. The 50 km long trail connects three lakes with stunning views and an easy 1.3% grade. It is a significant walking and biking route that benefits all the communities along the way. Vernon is connected to the Okanagan Rail Trail by a multi-use path that runs from the City Centre through Polson Park and along Kalamalka Lake Road, ultimately connecting to the trail head on College Way in Coldstream.

Jade Bay Beach itself is a short 5-minute hike through the woods and down to the gorgeous sandy bay. It features several picnic tables and an outhouse making it the ideal beach for families. The beach is fairly long and has plenty of room to throw down a blanket and get your tan on. As with most of Kalamalka, the water is crystal clear and wonderful for an afternoon swim. This beach is also the perfect spot to come and watch the brilliant Okanagan sunsets that occur here every evening throughout the summer.

BX Creek and Falls rage from April to June as snowmelt runoff water roars downhill from Silver Star Mountain. Then in summer and autumn, the trail becomes a tranquil respite from the valley's heat. In winter, hikers can test their snowshoeing skills. From the Tillicum Road trailhead take a short hike to the waterfalls or waterfall viewpoint, or head past the viewpoint for a longer creekside hike. The trail splits to descend down to a shallow pool at the foot of BX Falls along a steep descending trail.

Situated at the head of Okanagan Lake in the stunning Okanagan Valley, this historic site is a mecca for tourists. Just a few kilometres from the City of Vernon and twenty minutes from Silver Star Mountain, the Ranch welcomes travellers from all over the world, and extends a particular welcome to its local residents. The Ranch was founded in 1867, and in its earliest days was at the end of the wagon road into the Okanagan Valley and the site of the stage coach depot. It was a small, self-contained community, with a Post Office, blacksmith shop, grist mill, and even its own church and cemetery. Many of the original buildings still exist, and are a delight to explore. Historic O’Keefe Ranch tells the story of early BC Ranching and endeavours to preserve the history and culture of the early ranching era for future generations.
