Typical neighborhood vermouth bar. They have really good picadas (plates of cheese, meats, and olives). It's a beautiful atmosphere and filled with locals. Service can be aloof.

Food Scene

One of the many bares notables (old-fashioned cafes) in Buenos Aires. This one is gorgeous and the picadas (meat and cheese plates) are very good. Get the submarino (hot chocolate to die for).

Inside the Mercado de San Telmo is Coffee Town. It is one of the best coffeeshops in BA. Plus, it's fun to sit there and watch the vendors get ready for the day, setting up their produce in pyramids.

One of our favorite restaurants. The ojo de bife (ribeye) is excellent. It's Spanish style cooking more than Argentine. The skateboarding chef has become pretty famous.

Excellent place for great steaks. Good wine list, too. The service is very good and they will usually accept dollars.

Arts & Culture

A small museum with excellent exhibitions. Modern art. Lots of Argentine artists. The building is nice, too. I think it was a cigarette factory.
