Food Scene

One of Toronto's favourite Asian fusion places -- and one of mine. The kimchi fries, dripping with flavour and covered in pulled pork, are both great drunk food and an ideal lunch.

Perfect breakfasty brunch place that stealthily turns into a place with cool cocktails when the hour is right. Can't go wrong with their eggs.

Ridiculously friendly service and probably the best Japanese curry in a city with plenty of competition for that superlative. Hard to beat (and to find -- level P1 of the building, to the left!).

Absurdly delicious and elaborate Caesars (the Canadian Bloody Mary, with clam juice, for some reason) and killer brunch food in the heart of the gay village. Look for the dog portraits on the walls.

Arts & Culture

Cheap movie house with ridiculously delicious boozy slushies. Get tickets for an indie flick and a Whiskey Sour (lime slushie and whiskey -- I swear, it's awesome).

Sightseeing

I remember first coming here years ago and marvelling at the beautiful old greenhouse - and then at the shocking variety of plants inside. Great to come and wander; feels intimate and almost secret.
