MATA Coffee is not far from CM Friend's House. Just an 8 minute walk or a short hop on a scooter. They have great WIFI and good coffee and cakes, but the highlight on their menu is "MATA Tea", ranging around 30-60 baht a drink. Try it and savor it for yourself! ^_^

This is a daytime market that starts around 5:00am. You can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as prepared salads, drinks, and cooked local food so you can see the real local people’s lifestyle. I recommend trying the Thai milk tea (we call Cha-Yen). You will feel just like a local drinking it ;). The night market located directly in front of the daytime market goes from 6:00pm unit around 4:00am. They have many inexpensive local foods you can sample. Pad Thai for 35฿, Thai BBQ sticks 10฿ each , mango with sticky rice 40฿, and much more.

Arts & Culture

Wiang Kum Kam is an historic settlement and archaeological site along the Ping River, which was built by King Mangrai as his capital before he moved it to Chiang Mai. It was flooded and abandoned more than 700 years ago; that move became more understandable in 2005, when the ancient city was flooded three separate times as the river overflowed its banks in that area of Chiang Mai.
