Approx 40 mins from us this is a relatively new 'burger joint'. They have a range of burgers, all freshly made, all very good. They also make real chips, i.e. made from whole potatoes!!! Primarily take away, they do have seating and have redone the back yard with more seating and are hoping to introduce live music. This is on the way to Cape Kidnappers and the various vineyards along the sea front, but worth making room for a bite to eat.

20 mins past the Patangata Tavern will take you the beach at Kairakau. Smaller than Pourerere Beach but again a nice golden sand beach. Shorter walks in it's own wee bay. Again this has public toilet blocks so take your own water/coffee/tea, oh, and sunscreen.
