Food Scene

This place has delicious food and is located in an old pharmacy, so the interior is both fascinating and beautiful. This is a restaurant for treating yourself, not if you are on a budget.

This is where all the people working in the area goes for lunch. I haven't tried it out yet, but if you are looking for a tasty breakfast outside the house, this is where I would go.

Pingvinen (the penguin) is where I send all my guests who want to eat Norwegian food. This nice bar/reataurant serves traditional Norwegian food with a twist. I am particularly fond of their fish dishes.

Parks & Nature

This is a beautiful hiking trail up to the neighbourhood mountain. The path runs by close to the house even though it is marked on the map further away.

KODE 1, 2, 3 and 4 are art exhibition spaces with different profiles and changing exhibitions. If you want to see modern art or if you want to have a look at the classic Norwegian painters like Munch or Astrup these four art museums on a row are nice.

This is the home of the violin virtuoso Ole Bull on the island Lysekloster turned in to a museum. It takes some traveling getting there without a car, but it is a perfect little getaway with a cute boat shuttle and a café on the island. Take the Light city rail (Bybanen) to Lagunen and change to buss 62 to "Buena kai" (OBS! No busses on Sunday! Here are the time table: https://www.skyss.no/globalassets/bussruter/sommerruter-2017/fana-ytrebygda-og-os/linje_62.pdf)

Sightseeing

If you have read anything about Bergen before you came here you heard about Bryggen. These are the only Hanseatic buildings left in the world. A stoll along the harbour here is nice, make sure you also walk in between the houses and have a look. There are several Hanseatic museums along the harbour as well.

This church is a beutiful example of the very unique medeaval building style of wooden churches in Norway. The original church was burned down in vandalism, but the remake is equally beautiful! You can easily get there with the Light city rail (Byanen) or you can go there by bike. I did that when I went to see it.
