Stroll down to the lakes edge in front of the house then wander the lakes edge ( when the lake is low) along the shoreline to the southern point of Smiths Lake where you will find Frothey Coffee Boatshed. Or drive the kids - 2 mins. Perched over the lake edge, near a park for kids, boat ramp, sandy foreshore to stroll around. Watch out for the Kamakazzi Kookaburras as they will swoop on you in the park. Keep food covered. A perfect place for the little babies to gain their water confidence away from splashing waves. Lake is usually a nice temperature. Outdoor shower and amenities and picnic bbqs and table all there.

– Stroll the original main street of Forster. Most scenic access to here is to turn left at McDonalds and drive along Breckenridge Channel past the oyster leases and cute little lake front coffee shops. Park near the Amaroo Cruise Boat but watch the parking times. Stroll along the beautiful boardwalk and enjoy lunch in the park or in a café or restaurant. Follow the boardwalk under the bridge around to the marina then go past here to the breakwall. If teenagers are confident swimmers here they often like to jump off the wharves or swim across the channel to the islands but watch the tides and currents carefully. This is a very popular family swimming and boating spot in the summer months. Google Kids Spot, Forster also great for wet days and right next to Scotty’s Pet Shop.

Families can also walk or ride their bikes along the breakwall. See the boats, jetskis and dolphin up close going in and out of Wallis Lake.
