Food Scene

A few places I can personally recommend.
The local. Great for food and beer! Postcode is on the info sheet in the tent. Great local real ale cask beer & the food is great too. Bit more than average pub grub. Garden outside for eating in or eat in the dining room or the cosy bar areas. If you're lucky ( in winter) you can get a seat by a roaring log fire.

Oh my, I adore the food here. Fresh local caught fish. It's a delight to see what's new that day. But you MUST book & it is a little spendy. But it's the best, literally. It's know throughout Wales, everyone around here knows the HarbourMaster in Aberaeron...Should have a star.

Sightseeing

Who doesn't love a castle ruins. Aber has a lovely one, what's left of it. It's next to the water, you'll find it when you drive down the prom (go left at the pier). And it's free! Has picnic tables too, so take nibbles with you or pick up fish&chips.

How low can you go? 3 bridges over a deep ravine. Pay to follow the trail to the bottom. And then gorge on tea & cafe, sandwiches and more at Two hoots cafe at the steam railway terminal. Then get handmade chocolate gifts over the road and an icecream.. because you deserve it after walking all the way to the bottom of those Devil's Bridge Falls.

Sand, lots of sand. Lots of people too. Great for kayaking or pretending you're a dolphin. Boat trips to see the dolphins available for the less able swimmers. Food: fish&chips, pies, pasties, icecream, chocolate. A few pubs all serving your average food offerings. Park up the top and walk down. Then on the way back up, curse me for suggesting this.. but hey... there was nowhere to park down the bottom.. trust me on this.

BOG! Walk, birds (feathered sort), wildlife. Did you know: Cors Caron represents the most intact surviving example of a raised bog landscape in the United Kingdom. 15 mins walk on the boardwalk to the boghide... a fantastic structure or glass, cedar shingles and oak boards. Then just sit and bird watch or sit on one of the benches en-walk and listen & watch the water wildlife. It's a special place. where you can just sit, close your eyes, breath in and smile.

3 bridges built over each other above a deep ravine with spectacular waterfalls. Walk the Punch Bowl... down into the devils pit. You might get a bit wet & a bit out of breath... 180 steps. But wow! Designated parking nearby and pretty easy on the pocket to do the walk. Easier routes available for newbies.

Shopping

Turn at the Macdonlds roundabout, follows "Town Centre" signs. Park opposite the police station... take coins. Follow anyone who is walking right...everyone's heading into town. You'll find a Tesco first, then M&S, around a right corner Wetherspoons & Lidl, down the road opposite a KFC. Keep going and you'll hit the prom. Hello Beach!

Tregaron is great for getting some supplies in. Local Spar, butchers, veg shop, café & pubs. A chippy: "Tregaron Takeaway", they do fish&chips aswell as all the kebab and burger stuff, pizzas too. But go collect, delivery service doesn't work. Chinese takeaway "Danisang Tregaron" It's 6.5 miles from here and takes approx 20 mins each way. So why not download the Tregaron Takeaway App, order & pay online. Head out the door, pick up beer/chocolate in Spar, collect takeaway and you are back in just under an hour. Which is pretty good going for the middle of nowhere. Or go on the pubs page "Y Talbot Tregaron" and book in for some amazing food.

Amazing place with pretty painted townhouses and cottages. Wonderful marina to hang out at and plenty of street cafes to people watch. A good place to stop for fuel or the loo while enroute or coming back from down the coast. Parking on the beach side of the main road through. All turns eventually lead to a carpark or follow the signs.
