The old fortress that have protected Bergen from the viking age (1000 ad.). King Eirik Magnusson used parts of it as his residence until 1299, and from 1400-1800 parts of it was used as a prison.

The mountain in the middle of the city. Best to walk from Solheimsviken/Danmarksplass. The path can be a bit tricky to find, but ask around, the view is worth the effort!
