Around Vancouver this is affectionately refered to as "The VAG". Great gallery, is usually hosting a large scale exhibition (at the time of writing this, Yoko Ono). Tip: Tuesdays are cheap entry. Check out the calendar for kids' events and for the once-a-month "Fuse" Friday night for adults - which includes performance art, interactive exhibitions, and a bar. Also, they have a great cafe!

The Keg has been in BC since the 70's. It's the go-to for your standard steakhouse experience, but also has decent options for special dietary needs. This location has a rooftop bar that is a great spot for a cocktail. Fun fact: It started as a Restaurant above the indoor riding ring at the original Thunderbird Show Jumping Park and stables.

This is the best sushi spot in the neighbourhood. It’s high quality with wild salmon, has inventive rolls and service is good. It’s a little pricier than some but is a good value overall.

Neighbourhoods

Olympic Village is named such because it was created as the Athelete's Village for the 2010 Olympic Games. Afterwards, the were sold with a portion purposed for Social Housing. Since then, it's really become a community and other building have followed suit. It's a great place for a walk - about 20 minutes if you walk around the water and loop back, or 40 minutes if you walk over the Cambie Street bridge. There's a great deli at Grocery Store Urban Fare and a specialty Liquor Store with an amazing selection of BC wines and beers.

Always a fun visit! Lots of artisan and specialty shops and the market is a great place for local produce and fare, and lots of great restaurants too. If I was in the mood to fill my 'fridge with some easy meals, I would visit the Stock Market for some ready to go soups; grab some fresh bread at the bakery, Duso's Deli for some Tortellini & Sauce, and Siegl's Bagels for Montreal style bagels. The Fish shop would have some great Candied Smoked Salmon to put on top - and all the produce stands there have great quality options for some fruit and salad makings.
