Exclusive Restaurants

Vienna's kitchen is known all abroad for its traditional food like Wiener Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn and Sachertorte. In my Food Guide I'll show you the best places for Wiener Schnitzel and other exclusive dishes
"The Home of Schnitzel." If you want to eat a real "Wiener Schnitzel", I can recommend Figlmüller. This restaurant has been around in Vienna for a long time and is located in a small alley near the cathedral. It's so popular that a second restaurant has opened on the side street and you need a reservation to eat here. The Wiener Schnitzel at Figlmüller is incredibly delicious, beautifully flat and as big as a pizza.

"There are coffee houses and there is Café Central." This is how the café describes it on its own website and sums it up perfectly. This café has been around since 1876, and greats like Freud and Trotsky have been regulars here. The design of the cafe is absolutely chic. If you want to eat or drink something here, you have to wait in the usually long line in front of the door. In the Café Central there is traditional Viennese cuisine. Starting with soups and Wiener Schnitzel to Kaiserschmarrn and Wiener Melange. The Kaiserschmarrn at Café Central is highly recommended!

The Café Sacher Wien provides the ideal setting to get to know the typical atmosphere of Austrian coffee house culture - and of course to spoil yourself with a piece of the original Sacher cake.
