FUN for kids & adults

If you enjoy a mile long walk thru a nice quiet neighborhood along a river then this is the option for you from your room ( NOT from the cabin) There are two ways to arrive so I recommend one route to get there and the other route on return. (Cross over the river at the dam by big rocks park) Big Rocks Park is a very unique place! When they say 'Big Rocks!', they mean HUGE rocks. These are a, 'NOT to be missed' sight that you can climb for a great photo opp. Kids will love them as well as playing in the water.

This 'drive thru zoo' is fun for the entire family. Animals come right to the car to visit with you. In my experience the animals seem to be most active early in the day during hot summer hours but always fun!!

It is in Granbury, about a 30 minute drive but well worth it!! We enjoy an occasional date night especially on a cool night, bring a blanket and snuggle on lawn chairs in the bed of pickup. We also enjoy taking our grand kids, they play outside the vehicle as we wait for the sunset then climb in the bed of the pickup truck to enjoy a snack from the snack bar (or bring snacks) & watch a movie. When it's cold, bring a blanket & hot chocolate!!

You can walk to Barnard's Mill from you room (not from the cabin) This is a great historic place open to the public, lots of historic photos & art from local artists. They do have a nice room you can reserve for those special events. I.E. Weddings, reunions, conferences.
