A close walk, Bailey's is a Hot Springs institution. Walk up, order through the glass, and wait at the picnic tables for delicious quick-order American fare and essential dairy treats (they even have some killer fried rice). Bill Clinton used to work at Bailey's over a few summers in his youth.

One of our very favorite spots in Hot Springs, Superior Bathhouse Brewery is the only brewery in America that uses thermal springs as the main ingredient in their beer. Around 18 different beers on tap at any time... they have beer flights to sample them all, and you can purchase growlers to take your favorite brew home. Good food menu, too.

From their website: Welcome to Garvan Woodland Gardens, the botanical garden of the University of Arkansas. Nestled in the picturesque Ouachita Mountains of Southwest Arkansas, the Gardens are a wonderful gift to all people from local industrialist and philanthropist Verna Cook Garvan. Garvan Woodland Gardens is an example of The Natural State at its best: a canopy of pines reaching skyward providing protection for delicate flora and fauna, gentle lapping waves that unfold along the 4 ½ miles of wooded shoreline, and rocky inclines that remind us of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains.

The Arlington Hotel is an anchor of downtown and has an incredible history dating back to 1875. The rooms are old and tired, but a new owner started the renovation with the lobby, and it's worth taking a look inside. Grab a drink at the freshly updated lobby bar, or just escape the summer heat for a little while.
