A very beautiful museum located in beautiful surroundings. If you plan to visit - make sure to go for a walk in the forests around the museum close to the coast. The area is full of old trees and history. Getting there by bus is the easiest.

Our queens and royal family have very close ties to Aarhus. Often overshadowed by Copenhagen, this beautiful park and Castle is well worth a visit. Bike out here with a picknick basket, and enjoy the area.

One of the most modern and engaging libraries in the world. Not just bragging - it's by the ocean, beautiful views, amazing architecture and multi functional cultural hub. It's got amazing playing areas for the kids inside and outside.

Our botanical gardens are a nice visit too. They are situated right by Den Gamle By. I'll be honest, compared to some other botanical gardens in europe, these aren't top shelve - but it's nice none the less and there is a great outdoors playground in the park for the kids.

Art museum in the top tier. This museum is a must visit. Inside the architecture reminds one a bit of the Guggenheim in NYC, but more edgy and hard, without organic curves. The top view with it's rainbow colors presents aarhus in a 360 panoramic view. Even if you're not into art, this is a great place to visit.

GODSBANEN, www godsbanen dk Culture area with new buildings merging with old industry. Part of the area is a temporary small community, organized by Institute for X, people and business get to build their own houses/offices on short leases. Interesting area with a lot of cultural activities. Check out www . institutforx . dk for events and news on the area

The old brewery has been remodeled and is now a vibrant new part of town. It's not a place to spent countless hours, but it is located close to both Den Gamle By, Botanical gardens, and Godsbanen. Talk a walk through this area to enjoy old and new architecture merging.

Go here to see how Aarhus once were. The small houses have been secured by local law, and they are adorable. Walk down this small road, and enjoy the time capsule.
