Nørrebro is the Berlin-feel part of town. Here you will see hipster guys with small moustaches and beanies, you’ll hear languages from all over the World on the street and meet people of all colours and religion. Go to Blågårdsgade, Ravnsborggade, Elmegade, Guldbergsgade and Møllegade and the small sidestreets for cafes, shops, beer bars, restaurants and bakeries.

Vesterbro is the old “working class” and “rough” neighbourhood turned modern. You will see everything from small brown bars to fancy coffee places and undergrund clubs. You will meet both families with children on the many playgrounds and drug addicts and prositutes here - there is room for everyone. The Meat Packing District is the go-to place. I especially enjoy the tiny unpretencious bar called Kødbyens Høker where you can get the vegetarian lunch of the day, beer, soft drinks and coffee, and where the Music is always on.

Madscenen

Refshaleøen is an old industry area turned cool. “Lille Bakery” and “La Banchina” are nice cafés to visit for bakery, coffee, small lunch, a glass of wine or even a swim at la banchina if your into that😌 And the street food market called “Reffen” is great albeit touristy

Getting around

City bikes/rent a bike

There are orange city bikes where you pay as you go (or maybe you can rent them x hours) called Donkey bikes. If you download the app (Donkey Bikes) and register your payment details, you open and lock the bikes with the app. Easy and quite comfortable. Another option is to rent a bike at a bike store. I’m fairly sure the one called Ama’r City Cykler 300 meters from the apartment rents out bikes.
