The Kallithea Springs are located in the gulf of Kallithea, just 4 kilometers from your accommodation (on the way to Rhodes from the cost road). The healing springs of Kallithea have been known since ancient times for their healing properties. In 1927, at the initiative of the Italian Governor of the Dodecanese, Mario Lago, it began a systematic analysis of the water resources of Kallithea while constructing the relevant facilities. The work was commissioned by architect Pietro Lombardi, whose designs were judged to be the finest architectural compositions of the time. The springs of Kallithea gained a high reputation and their facilities remained active until 1967.

The Grand Masters Palace was built below the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes where originally the Temple of the Sun God stood. In the same place, in the 7th century, there was also a Byzantine Palace, and then in the 14th century the Knights of St John built the palace as the residence of the Grand Master as an administrative center. It was destroyed in 1856 by a large explosion of gunpowder that was hidden in the basement of the of St John Church. The Grand Masters Palace was then rebuilt according to the original drawings by the Italians in 1940. In 1988 it hosted the summit of the EEC. It occasionally holds exhibitions and major cultural events.

Traveler advice

Customs and culture

Parking details

During summer there are designated parking areas for the tourists in Rhodes city. Check the color of the parking area, in the yellow lines the parking is prohibited (only for governmental vehicles), in the blue are allowed with payment (coin-machine). There are few areas with free parking better to check your google map.
Don't miss

Lindos

One of the most beautiful areas of Rhodes island. Park your car on the parking area after the St Paul bay (parking fees) and walk up the acropolis. Spent some time walking in the small alleys, try the local tavernas, the food is excellent.
What to pack

What to bring with you

Rhodes is famous as the island of the Greek God Apollo (the god of sun). With more that 320 sunny days per year and average temperatures between 25 C-38 C April to November, we recommend you to bring light and white color "non synthetic" clothes and open shoes (flip-flops). However don't forget that you should travel back home :)
Customs and culture

220 Volt

If you like to charge your appliances please note that we are using 220 V in Greece. Try to recharge them in designated areas, some beach bars and tavernas are using power generators not suitable and may harm your appliance.
Getting around

Travelling with car or boat

Always start driving earlier than the appointed time. It is better to be one hour in advance for your check in rather to run at the roads. Rhodes have only few highways and there are many traffic delays during specific hours.
